From Hermes to his friend Hades

Dear Hades,

I know your sadness, my friend, and I understand you. I know that your separation with Persephone is terrible to you. I know that when she's not in Underworld with you, during Spring and Summer, you have a lot of doubts about her love and her fidelity.

But I would like to tell you, Hades, don’t be worried about your Persephone : even if you don’t see her, be sur about her feelings to you. Her sorrow is unconsolable, and Demeter her-self, her mother, doesn’t succeed to stop her tears. It’s very difficult to her to be divised between her mother and you.

Sometimes, she finds a little quiet in the Nature, thanks to flowers and animals which she likes very much. But her most beautiful smile appears when she pronounces your name. So, her eyes shines and her face is more gorgeous. When you will see her again, Hades, I promise you, the lady who will come back to you, will be the same Queen that you had left the last time.

When Amish's way of life are attacked

Hello everybody! This week, I investigated on Amish people and their way of life. This is a little journalistic article about them. I hope you appreciate this article!

One year ago, an Amish community was attacked by a extremist group.

Who are the Amish people, why these attacks against them?

The way of life and the beliefs of Amish people

The Amish movement started in Europe in the seventeenth-century, but now, they live especially in Canada, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Indiana (in USA). They are called also the "Plain People" because of their plain clothes. Their language is German, but in the school, children learn also English.

They are separated from the rest of the world and they are a simple life, in a rural environment. So, they have not modern technologies like electricity, telephones or cars. They prefer using horses, for example. They do not permit musical instrument because it's not in agreement with humility, and they refuse images and idols.

For Amish people, family is the most important thing and a basic family can have seven or ten children. Religious marriage is very important and divorce is forbidden. Religion and God are a priority to Amish people. They believe in a loving God and follow the literal interpretation of Scripture as the Word of God, but differents interpretations can be the cause of division between differents groups of Amishes.

 My opinion on this unusual culture

I think this way of life is really interesting because it's a back to a simple life. Amish pepole don't use useless technologies, created just for our cumfort but which is not necessary. I like the priority of their life is the family, because some people forget that and prefer, for example, their job.

But I think also this way of life is very strict and I prefer a life more relax and free. I'm disagree with the fordidden of the instrumental music, because the music is very important for me. I don't like the big consumption and buy objects everytime, but I think the technology and our way of life is very comfortable and plaisant. Not much, but a few it's good. Furthermore, I don't believe in God, so I don't understand a life based on religion and God.

November 2011: attack in a Amish community

These attacks took place in Ohio, november 2011, in a community of Amish people. Beards of Amish men, the symbole of Amish identity, were cut of by a group of others Amish men. This group was led by Samuel Mullet who he was 66 years old, and justified these attacks because Amish people don't follow the real religious rules.

American's education system

Hey everybody!

Today, I write an article about American's education system and what is wrong with this system, according to Katherine Birbalsingh. If you want to watch this video, it's here.

I answer the five comprehension questions:

1. Katherine Birbalsingh believes that there is a problem with UK's education system. Can you identify it within the first three minutes of the video? What is the problem?

 The problem with the American's education system is people aren't responsible for them-selves. Children must be responsibles for their exam, not the teachers. Furthermore, children have a bad behaviour because of racism and they aren't helpful.
 

2. Why does this problem exist according to this teacher?

This problem exist because of the a difficult background. Everybody has to responsable for them-selves.

3. What do the government ministers think about this problem? Who is to blame for the condition?

The government ministers think that teachers are in a system unfair. The responsibles of this condition are bad teachers.

4. Which suggestions does Katherine make to improve the system?

Katherine proposes stop to think about life after school and about the futur, and think more about the present.

5. Which changes would Katherine make in the education system if she were given a choice? 

If she were given a choice, Katherine woulds like to change exam and trust more teachers.

 After this video, I give you my opinion about our education system, in France, because I'm in this system since I'm a little child and I would like to become french teacher, so I have my opinion in this subject.

I think that the education system isn't very good in France: children and students aren't a high motivation to go in classroom, and many children don't like school. They prefere playing, or stay in their home, but certainly not the school! Or maybe, for their friends and recreations...

Sometime, we have a good teacher in the classroom, and fortunately, it's not really rare! But we can have a bad teacher: He's just concerned by his discipline and the schedule, and he doesn't take care of his students. He thinks about good student, but he forgets bad student, or students who need help and attention.

After, I think that children and students have too hours of class, and too holidays. Why do there are two months for the summer holidays? It's too much! During those two months, children forget everything! Aspecially  as some children are bored, because their parents work during holidays.

I think, that it's the problem, and to change that, children should have less holidays. Furthermore, they should have less hours in a day, but more days in class during the year. I think it's a several problem in the France's education system.

Examinations

This new post talks about Mr Bean, when he's writing an exam, with his reactions.

First, at the start of the exam, he's very self-confident and he's waiting the exam with a little smile. But when he has the paper, he doesn't understand, he's shaking his head and his smile disappears. He's desperate, he's afraid of the paper and finally, he thinks that it's a joke.

 The paper is very terrifying

At the moment when he sees the back of the paper, he's surprised, gets annoyed and the end, cries like a baby.

During the exam, he's trying to copy from his partner. He's very happy when he successes, and he's irritated when his partner notices that he wants to copy from him, and when he failes. Finally, the despair takes him again and he's crying and calling his Mum.

Poor Mr Bean...

Towards the end of the exam, he finds a new paper in the envelope : first, he's irritated but quickly, he panics and feels stress. He wants to write many words in his paper, but it's the end of the exam and he can't.

This little movie was really fun but personnally, my reactions are very differents when I pass an exam.
When I have the paper of the exam, and I don't know answers, I try to not panic and keep calm. In general, I look around me to see how others people are and if they are afraid or desperate. If I'm afraid at the moment, I'm confident because others people are in the same situation! But especially, I don't cry, because it will be strange to cry in front of everybody!

I'm 22 years old and I'm studing French Literature in the Stendhal university.

Reading is my passion, and I have always a book in my bag.

and a lot of others books ! I love reading because with books, you can travel, live increadibles adventures, go to the space or to the oceans... You can make everything that you want, only by your imagination and the book's words. It's amazing : books are a real world.

But my life don't come down to books. I have many hobbies, for example:

In fact, I go to the cinema once a week, to see cartoons, action movies, romantics comedies, and I don't know... ghosts movies sometime... In brief, I like that.

The second pictures is cupcakes. Okay, it's tendency, we can see cupcakes all the time and everywhere... but I like cupcakes and every kind of cakes . I'm very gourmand and I appreciate food in general. Fortunately for me, my boyfriend is a perfect cook!
